FWC's WOMAN of DISTINCTION, Scholars 2024, and WHAT'S AHEAD

                     WHAT'S AHEAD: A wonderful program in the coming months

Ø  February 19 -- with Andrea Hoff via Zoom. The reminder was sent out (Feb 5). Link to the zoom session will be sent out a day before the zoom presentation.

Ø  March 2, 2 - 4 PM + reception: Chamber Music at the Clark (Library). Get your tickets ASAP.

Ø  March 6 – 9, WALT DISNEY CONCERT HALL (time varies): The program is all about

                 The Mahlers (Gustav and Alma) with Gustavo Dudamel, conducting


Ø  March 19, 2025 via zoom FWC Music in Cultural Contexts presents. Andalusia, we travel with Dorota Dabrowska (via Zoom) at 12:30 PM. Details will be posted soon. 

April 16, at the Faculty Club Library (below) 12–2 PM. ALMA MAHLER's life and her music




Ø  April 20 LACO at 4 PM, in Beverly Hills – LACO PIONEERS: Martin Schumann, Price.

Ø  April 27 SALASTINA at The Broadstage, Santa Monica, 11 AM, with cocktails & snacks

           The program includes works by Brahms, Schumann, Wagner. 

 

Ø  May 11 LACO in Beverly Hills

 

Ø  May 21: Planning luncheon at the Faculty Club, UCLA

 

Ø  May 24: Salastina at the Ebell. Concerts include cocktails and snacks.

 

Ø  June 5-8 Ojai Music Festival A four-day program at the Libbey Bowl.

 

Ø  June 7 Treat yourself, you are worth it with SALASTINA at the Robinson Garden

                           “Sounds Delicious: An Alice in Wonderland and High Tea"

Faculty Women's Club honored Carol Block, our WOMAN OF DISTINCTION at the 3rd General Meeting and Scholarship Dinner. A lively conversation with Carol Block was moderated by FWC's President Anne-Marie Spataru (photo below). The event was well attended, and many of us were happy to meet old friends after the Los Angeles devastating fires of January 2025.
